As a Mainframe DBA, you will be responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of databases within a mainframe environment. You play a crucial role in ensuring the performance, security and availability of the databases. You will work closely with various IT teams to ensure that the database environments function optimally and meet business requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage, maintain and optimize mainframe databases (DB2, IMS, or similar systems).
  • Install, configure and upgrade database software in a mainframe environment.
  • Ensure efficient database performance by performing tuning and optimization processes.
  • Manage database security and backup/restore processes.
  • Perform data modeling, designing database structures and optimizing storage capacities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related problems and incidents.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to plan and implement changes and updates to the database environment.
  • Draft and maintain technical documentation and procedures.
