As a Mainframe Platform Specialist, you will be primarily responsible for fulfilling the DB2 database administrator function (DBA'er). You will also be frequently involved as technical application management of middleware services (CICS, DB2, MQ, RACF) and associated development and management tooling on the z/OS platform.

Aspart of technical application management, you will also be responsible for managing custom middleware solution (COBOL/Rexx) and various in-house developed tools (ISPF, COBOL, Rexx) for development and management tasks. We therefore expect you to be able to program in COBOL and preferably also in Rexx and to have experience with SQL. You are regularly involved in implementing changes on the z/OS platform, ensuring proper data exchange, supporting and facilitating the development teams working on COBOL/CICS/DB2 applications, and fulfilling the DB2 database administrator function.

In addition, you and the team will be responsible for providing support for, and handling production disruptions on the z/OS platform. For this work, you will have regular contact with external parties in addition to internal parties. Agile/scrum will be used to perform the work.

Ideally, you have extensive experience as a DB2 administrator. You also have experience developing in Cobol. Because part of the development and administration tooling runs on Windows (ID/z and Rational Team Concert), knowledge of and experience with this tooling and the Windows platform is a plus. Having experience with the Agile/scrum way of working is also a plus. Furthermore, you have a proven ability to quickly master new issues. Like the five team members of the Mainframe Platform team, you have a strong sense of responsibility and are helpful and enterprising!
